I requested two inspections, a before eviction and after a heated court battle emergency eviction with a tenant that was a danger to us. It was needed to have the same inspector on both inspections. I contracted with Duff Woodward to do the two inspections. He knew the situation. During the inspection, he ended up giving all his findings out to my other tenant renting out a room from me. This was at a time I didn’t need more drama added to our already volatile situation. I have always been told home inspections are confidential and the findings are to be sent to the client only. I sent him a simple email stating I didn’t appreciate that he did that. I expected a simple response of “I apologize” and that would be that, what’s done is done. Instead, he rudely told me to find someone else to do the second inspection knowing I needed the same person to do both…. so I got left hanging.
