Hi and thank you for visiting. Here is a little about me and how I got here. I was born in northern Florida and grew up working on houses at a young age to begin learning the trades. I went to college in North Carolina where I was a property manager and started a construction company that I ran for several years.

In early 2008 I was approached by a home health care company to start and run a whole new section of the business. The idea was simple, help people who need help.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Doug is a freaking superstar! If it wasn’t for COVID-19 I would’ve bear-hugged him after our inspection. The playing field of inspectors looks pretty grim based on our search and I was getting nervous, but Doug caught our eye for his glowing reviews and especially his story and background in construction and flipping houses. We’re trying to buy a historic home with info-only inspection, so finding a great inspector was so critical for us and our decision to move forward. From moment we began talking, I started to feel more at ease. He’s warm, funny, and easy to talk to – you can just feel how passionate he is about helping people find good homes and helping them understand how to grow into their homes too. He was constantly reminding us that he was there for us and we could reach out anytime, even 2 years from now if we have questions about the house. His company name is so true – he is an advocate for you in every sense of the word. Our inspection yesterday was over 4 hours and Doug was so thorough and collaborative. He wanted us there with him every step of the way to see what he was seeing and talk about next steps on any issues, but also just general usability of the house and best practice, including how to handle maintenance and ensure we don’t get ripped off down the road. He would always stop to ask if we had questions and make sure what he was saying made sense. And he got us our report that same night and took fun 360 shots because I said my dad wanted to be there but couldn’t. I was a nervous wreck before, but I feel so calm and confident in this house now because of Doug. Like seriously, he is the be-all-end-all. If I could clone him and ensure all my future contractors are as good as him.

As first time buyers, the complexity of homes and potential issues can be overwhelming. Doug was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the what and why of each part of the house he looked at and was very patient answering our questions. The report was very detailed and will be a great reference for owning the home!

Doug took ample time with me at the time of inspection, as well as after completion of his incredibly thorough and clear report. It is clearly important to him that I understand exactly how my home works and operates, and what issues need to be attended to. As a new homeowner, I have a lot of questions and he continues to answer them for me and to make sure I am clear on next steps. I highly recommend his services
