Hi, I’m Stephen Toman, Certified Professional Inspector, and I own and operate Altair Inspection. I am passionate about well maintained, healthy homes, with systems operating in good working order. I have always personally conducted or managed all renovations, remodels, repairs and system maintenance in my own homes. Just like personal health, the health of a home does not simply happen on its own. As I inspect a home, I report areas of concern while educating you on the system operations and how to manage the necessary maintenance of the home.

I am a Certified Professional Inspector associated with InterNACHI, the worlds largest Association of Certified Home Inspectors. I am also a member of MAHI, Maryland Association of Home Inspectors. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Towson University in 1999 and went to work for a large scale retirement community developer.

The best! Recommended by our realtor; Steve Toman was very knowledgeable, punctual, thorough, patient, took his time, and communicated effectively. He made me feel comfortable with the repairs needed by giving me several options to mend or fix the repairs. Great personality. Not to mention, the water report results came back before he left! A++ Highly recommend!

Had a great experience with a home inspection from Altair and Stephen Toman. Very professional, patient as I asked questions, and was thorough in his findings with the property. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the market and would make Altair my first call again. Cheers!

I searched online extensively for a quality inspector and came across the positive reviews for Stephen and Altair Home Inspection and chose him to inspect our new home. He was flexible with scheduling, even scheduling around his family vacation. He was responsive and friendly. During the inspection I could tell that he had a professional process and he was extremely thorough. He let my wife and I follow him around throughout the inspection so we could learn as much as possible about our new home. While inspecting he also gave several tips, suggestions and advice about the home. As his website describes, it seemed like he was inspecting the house as if his family was going to live there. His inspection report was complete the next day and we were able to use it to negotiate some fixes from the sellers. The online report is amazing, easy to reference and I have continued to use it as we make repairs and improvements to the home. I have also contacted Stephen with questions weeks after the move and he has responded quickly and continued to give advice. Stephen’s service was exactly what we were looking for and I will use him for every home I buy moving forward.
