American Society-Home Inspctrors
ASHI attracts members who are committed to professional excellence. ASHI Members are leaders within the industry who come from diverse backgrounds and have robust experience. Home inspection is a profession that often attracts skilled personnel looking for a new career opportunity. Many home inspectors come from fields related or adjacent to home science, such as construction workers, electricians, HVAC specialists, and structural engineers. Many second-career inspectors use the vast wealth of knowledge and skills gained from these professions to apply to the practice of home inspection. Additionally, as the industry continues to grow and gain awareness, more individuals pursue home inspection as their first career. All these various perspectives are brought together and shared within the membership of ASHI; constantly offering insight into the technical prowess and the professional approach needed in every home inspection.
In my opinion you cannot rely on this certification. I have clear evidence their ASHI certified inspector Towne and Country Building Inspection broke their “code of ethics” policy and they could not care less. I believe this certification is just window dressing that means absolutely nothing when it comes down to it. I feel sorry for people who employ certified inspectors thinking they are getting a trustworthy and competent inspector when they may not be, in my case.
ASHI is the premier Home Inspector Association in the US! The leadership they provide to the industry and the training they offer is superior!
