Benchmark Home Inspectors
Hi, my name is Jeff Howard. I am a Licensed Home Inspector by the State of Kentucky, #103729, and abide by the Statutes of the State as well as the Code of Conduct and Standards of Inspection set by the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI).
What is my history? In a variety of capacities, I have been involved in either remodeling, repairing, or inspecting residential property for over 35 years in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
Our inspection of our new to us home was done by Mr. Howard. I can’t even begin to tell you how disappointed we were with his lack of inspecting. We have found so many problems since moving in! All things that if he had actually checked such as outlets, gutters, toilets, switches, dishwasher. All things he said he checked and obviously didn’t. All I can say is if you use this man make sure you are at the appointment to make sure he goes through everything!
Not qualified for one star but I had to. At least he gave me his money back and admitted he is unprofessional I give him that. So many things wrong with my house that he did not detect or let me know about and I am a first time home buyer. Isn’t that your job? Terrible. Please look elsewhere if you are wanting your home to truly be inspected by a professional. What more can I say? Seems like a nice guy but unfortunately doesn’t know how to do his job. I am looking into reporting this company to the proper authorities I’m not sure who and haven’t gotten around to that yet since I’ve had so many problems with my home including flooding and water damage, electrical issues, sewage issues, and other things that you would think would be obvious even to your regular guy, let alone a home inspector. I will make it my duty to do this I just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Just trying to get it out there that this company is worthless.
He took my electrical panel out of the wall which had just been painted. You’ll see in the pictures he couldn’t even take the time to put the panel all the way back into the wall, he left it hanging. He of course refused to fix it. He said it wasn’t his fault the electrical panel was painted shut. Any other inspector would have contacted the buyer to make sure it was OK to dig into the wall or they would have simply marked it as inaccessible. I would NOT recommend using Jeff Howard, Benchmark Home Inspections.
