Catawba Valley Home Inspections realizes that the purchase of a home is probably the largest and most exciting investment you will ever make. It is difficult to remove any emotional attachment you may have for a home due to it’s location, style, setting, etc. A home inspection will help you learn as much as you can about the property you are considering buying in an effort to help you make a more informed decision as a buyer.
Our philosophy at Catawba Valley Home Inspections is to inspect each home with the utmost care, to be thorough, and to explain our findings clearly to each client. Shane Laffon is a licensed home inspector.
The bank will not close now and after 5 phone calls they tell me tough luck they will not finish the inspection. DO NOT USE THESE UNPROFESSIONAL CLOWNS.
Very pleased with their work. They were thorough, fast, and were able to explain all of their findings in an easily understandable way. Found some things that were not apparent to the previous owner, which was very helpful in our decision-making process. Price was also excellent for the information we got. Very nice people and will use them again in the future. Would highly recommend!
We used this company for a pre-purchase home inspection. The inspector, Mr. Laffon, had rave reviews about our potential house stating there was nothing wrong with it except a few minor nails on the roof that needed to be patched. He also stated all water pipes in the house had been replaced with PVC or CPVC. A year later and we have had issues with iron pipes under the house busting (not supposed to be any iron pipes), structural issues with the foundation that were quite blatant if one crawled into the crawl space, and now we are being told our roof needs to be replaced, not repaired. We also just returned from vacation to find our ceiling in the floor because a polybutylene pipe busted while we were gone. They are clearly visible from the crawl space but this inspector said we didn’t even have any of these pipes in the house!
