. Not only was Mark very flexible (completed both inspections for me on weekends with short notice), but the report I received was very detailed and thorough and helped me make an educated decision about buying a home. I highly recommend Garr Home Inspections!
Mark and Karen are a great team, knowledgeable, professional, prompt and just kind people. I was in a rush to get an inspection and they were willing to schedule a late evening appointment on a Friday to accomodate my needs. They are very thorough, genuine, ready to explain simply, anything I had questions about. They were even compassionate when the house they inspected for me turned out to be a hot mess in the crawl space! Highly recommend them.
Our initial experience with Mark and Karen was very good, but within a few days of us moving into our home we discovered some very serious electrical problems that were not mentioned in the report. One of the electrical issues was disclosed, but the comprehensive report did not include an image of our electrical panel with the cover removed (which our relator said Mark always includes) which would have revealed the dangerous state of our panel. LG&E took a look and had to cut off power to our home because it was too dangerous to leave connected. Our electrician said he found evidence of aluminum wiring whereas Mark said he did not, and if a picture of our panel interior had been included in the report this may have been caught or disputed. Our realtor spoke with Mark and he said our problems could have been completely caused by the one issue he did disclose in the report; however, had the larger panel issue been addressed beforehand we may not have purchased the home due to the severity of the electrical problems. Both our electrician and the LG&E technician said anytime they’ve seen electrical panels like ours (with the spring loaded breakers) it’s known they are absolute fire hazards.
