I found Prodigy Home Inspections while searching online. I, being a veteran myself, noticed it was a veteran owned company which stood out to me. I try to work with veteran owned companies whenever I can. I contacted Mr. Gilbert on Sunday, June 23rd, 2019 about doing a complete home inspection on a house I am looking to buy. He was available the next day. I met him at the property, and he arrived before me. He was very personable and started the inspection immediately, even though it was raining. He went over every part of the home thoroughly from top to bottom, including the attic and crawl space. He worked steadily and efficiently until it was completed, only stopping to answer some questions for me. It was a pretty rainy day, and the back yard was a bit muddy. Upon entering the house, he immediately removed his work boots to keep from tracking in mud. That was, in my eyes, a show of respect for the property and not wanting to create a mess on the flooring. Many people overlook such things. Upon completion of the inspection, he went over everything with me, not only explaining things he saw, but also showing me in the photographs he took. His rate for my property was extremely reasonable for the amount of time he spent doing the inspection. I recieved a detailed inspection report later that day, including the photos he took.

During our inspection Chris was very thorough and knowledgeable. As first time home buyers we had tons of questions, which he was happy to answer. We also received a binder to put our inspection report in with an informational booklet, which was a nice plus. I just reviewed the inspection report this morning and it was very detailed, had good photos, and was easy to understand. He also went over everything with us in person and showed us each issue, explained how it could have happened, and how to prevent it from worsening. He had valuable insight about upcoming repairs that we hadn’t even noticed and provided great advice for preventing future damage. Not to mention the fact that he got us scheduled in less than a week and was able to work with us so that we would be able to attend. After his inspection we feel much more confident about the home we are in the process of buying. We would definitely recommend Chris for your next inspector!

Buying a home built in the early 30’s can be a little scary, but I feel better about it all after a home inspection with Prodigy. Received a detail write up that I’ll be able to use when I decide to fix the issues present in the old house!
