Pruitt Property Inspectors
Pruitt Property Inspection, Inc. was started by Steve and Dana Pruitt in April of 1991 after a nineteen-year career in homebuilding in Lexington. As the business grew, we added four other Lexington builders to our staff, Dave Adkins, Larry Sills, Finley Stamatis, and Steve Nance. We think homebuilding provides an excellent background and perfect lead-in to home inspection and that experience is an important asset. When you have Pruitt Property Inspection, Inc. inspect your house, you’re assured of having a former builder doing the job.
Being in the processes of buying a home and not being from the area, I contacted Pruitt Property Inspection. Having purchased four houses over the years and working for Lowe’s as a Commercial Sales Specialist for several years working with builders, I has pretty up to par on what to expect. Steve Nance was one of the most thorough and professional inspectors I have ever met. I don’t think there was anywhere Steve didn’t inspect thoroughly. After he conducted his inspection he sat down with my wife and I and went through the entire inspection. What I liked the most was he talked “to” us and not at us. He also explained the details in layman’s terms in a way that my wife could understand and yet not make her feel dumb. From the office staff to the finished inspection, I don’t think you could find a better company to do your inspection.
I purchased a home that needed many repairs and Pruitt did a good job identifying most issues. However, I feel they missed a very important detail that left me unsatisfied with their work and was identified when I called the gas company to turn on the gas utilities. The gas company was unable to turn on the gas because they detected major leaks in the gas lines. I called a plumber and 4 major leaks were identified. I had them repaired immediately as it was winter and I needed the gas for heat, in addition to having a tenant move in the next day. The expense to have it fixed was just 875 dollars. If this issue had been identified during the inspection, I would have requested the seller to repair the gas lines. I would not have agreed to pay to have them repaired myself.
Impressed!!! Very thorough inspection, and detailed report. I was presented with a binder of the findings, along with pictures in color, and rated recommendations in needed repairs/attention. The inspector went over each item and described the problem, but also noted the good points. They saved me a ton of money!!! I highly recommend Pruitt Property Inspection! Don’t buy a home without seeing them first!
