My name is James Smead, Owner of ReDefined Spaces Home Inspections. Before becoming a home inspector, I worked in new home construction for a period of time. In 2000, I entered the military as part of the US Army. Upon my discharge, I did some commercial electrician work.

I decided to become a home inspector soon after my wife and I bought our first home. Shortly after moving into our new home, we ran into a number of issues that were overlooked in the original home inspection. Needless to say, we were disappointed. This prompted me to obtain my license as a Master Certified Home Inspector through the American Home Inspector Training Institute (AHIT) and become a member of the Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors (WAHI).

He went over every detail, every nook and cranny, until he was satisfied with the work he performed. Small spaces? No problem! Buried crawlspace? No problem! Impossible to get to attic? James is Spiderman! After the inspection is complete, ReDefined Spaces provides you with a comprehensive inspection report that gives you the confidence to make a good decision. James is extremely knowledgeable, thorough and objective. In addition to conducting his inspection in a detailed and methodical manner, he is a pleasure to communicate with and goes the extra mile.

No need to look any further! James is extremely knowledgeable and he left no stone unturned during our inspection. We are so appreciative of the expertise he brought. James works for you and will do his best to make sure you can make an informed decision. He answered all of our questions and has continued to provide guidance after we reviewed the report too.
